“Birthday Bouquet”
| On June 19, at 5 in the morning, I got up, hiked up the mountains behind our house to find a few wild flowers to surprise my wife Dorothy on her Birthday. Since they grow abundantly and in great variety at this time of the year, and because I only picked them, one here, one there, I did not feel too guilty to take them for this purpose. When I had them placed in a vase, this bouquet of flowers, gathered at random, was so beautiful that it inspired me to take this photograph. | |
